SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION CENTRE ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF NEW DEPUTY REGISTRAR

Vivekananda will assist the Registrar, Ms Tan Ai Leen, in the administration of cases filed with SIAC. He has been with the Centre for the past two years as Counsel responsible for the administration of over 120 arbitrations. As Head (South Asia), he also leads SIAC’s first overseas representative office in India, established in May 2013 with a view to engaging with the legal and business communities in India and the South Asia region.

Vivekananda graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India. He was called to the Bar in India in 2006, and worked with a Senior Counsel in the Supreme Court of India and as Senior Associate in the disputes team of a top-tier firm in New Delhi, prior to joining SIAC.
In 2012, SIAC handled 235 new cases and currently handles an active caseload of about 500 arbitrations. In May 2013, SIAC opened its first overseas office in Mumbai, India, and established a representative office in Seoul, South Korea.
